Bells and Whistles provides fear-free, reward based training & behaviour modification in Buckinghamshire. From puppy training to pets with issues we can help! We hold classes in High Wycombe (Lane End), Bledlow, Chinnor (Henton) & Marlow and can provide 121 help virtually and outdoors at our Henton venue. Home visits are now resuming, for issues that require this service.
We treat the whole household and consider all issues when treating behaviour problems. Our behaviour modification plans are easily followed and really make a difference. We don't offer quick fixes that don't work long term.
Whether you have a dog, cat or small mammal; Bells and Whistles will find the right solution for you.
Highly qualified, experienced and reliable - whichever service you use, we'll always do the right thing for you and your pet.
COVID-19: we are maintaining some covid measures to avoid the need for whole groups to test/self isolate. One effect of the pandemic has been a massive increase in enquiries for 121 and behavioural services. This means a longer wait (currently late February) for new clients and admin delays. Apologies for this, we will answer as soon as possible.
"Jenny is very good. Has been much help to me and Rio"
Our behaviour counsellor Jenny Green is a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Animal Training Instructor (via the ABTC).
Jenny founded Bells and Whistles in 2009 after 3 years with the RSPCA. Having worked in the animal industry since her teens, Jenny has extensive experience handling difficult dogs as well as a wide range of other species. With a master’s degree in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from Southampton University as well as regular attendance at seminars and training events, Jenny is well placed to help with a variety of behavioural and training issues. Jenny is Certificated Member of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FABC).
As a youngster, Jenny enjoyed the company of cats, horses, chickens, sheep & even a couple of lizards. While the bulk of Jenny’s work is now with dogs, she regularly sees other species. Jenny is also a Puppy School tutor, teaching a specialist puppy training course designed by renowned author and behaviourist Gwen Bailey.
Jenny lives with her family on their small farm, with 2 dogs, a terrier crossbreed named Silky and Foden who is a Springer Spaniel x Rottweiler. She also has two highland ponies, Hannah and Hamish bred by Jenny's mum Marlene. Jenny is keen to promote the use of positive reinforcement training with horses.
Claire Hallett is a Puppy School Tutor and also holds an Animal Behaviour degree from Bristol University. She works at Battersea Old Windsor, teaches some of the Little Marlow classes and covers holidays.
Melanie Mathews has recently joined the team as a Puppy School Tutor, taking most of the little Marlow classes and some at Bledlow. Melanie has a Hearing Dogs brood names Tilly, a beautiful cocker spaniel whose puppies are helping deaf and hearing impaired people across the UK.
Jenny's improver classes were fantastic for my lively rescue dog, Sam. Her patience and understanding with both of us, and innovative approaches to his behavioural issues have been invaluable. Sam is now a much calmer, happier dog who adores Jenny!
Jenny has been an invaluable part of our lives since we bought our first ever puppy. The puppy and improver classes gave us the skills needed to help develop our puppy into a wonderfully rounded, sociable and fun dog to be with. Jenny's knowledge, patience and calm nature is so reassuring for us and we look forward to her classes every week as our one year old grows from strength to strength in her training - not to mention how much fun our lively dog has in her classes, she simply adores Jenny! We also use Jenny's dog sitting and walking services, which is an amazing resource to be able to call upon. Jenny is 100% trustworthy, reliable and caring - a combination that is as valuable as gold dust. Suffice to say we feel sorry for people that don't have Jenny in their lives.

Jenny's dog training classes were excellent. Her clear and calm approach worked well with our excitable puppy
Jenny came to meet our puppy Milo as he was scared of other dogs and displaying signs of separation anxiety. Jenny spent an hour with us, and gave us some tips of how to help Milo work things out. Namely, introduced tasty treats, of cheese and chicken/ ham pieces, playing "find it", and distracting him when other dogs are approaching, and so on. We followed Jenny's advice to the letter, and he is now doing brilliantly! He looks at other dogs, and greets appropriately, then looks to me for a treat, knowing he has done well!

A fun learning experience for my puppy, he has turned into a very well-mannered dog thanks to the help of the puppy classes
Thank you for the help you have given me with the training of Otto. I hope that your business goes from strength to strength as you are an excellent teacher.
Very good introduction to obedience for Emerson, but excellent learning for us on how to teach him.
Jenny has been great training Jack & Jill, from day one I have seen improvements and they are a joy to live with; I have never had such well trained dogs. Jenny has been really patient and has helped me find ways to train the puppies around my commitments, even taking them for intensive training when I have been busy studying. Two puppies at once may not have been the best idea, but Jenny has helped me make it work and I wouldn't trade them for the world
Thank you so much for coming today. We are really impressed with your ideas and we can see Bella is already responding.
